“Space for Citizenship”: focus on respiratory health at the 14th GRAP conference

The 14th GRAP Conference, a key yearly event focusing on respiratory health, recently hosted an engaging community session called “Space for Citizenship” (Espacio para la Ciudadanía) on April 20th in Burgos. This event was a major part of the conference and brought the local community together to learn more about their respiratory health.

“Space for Citizenship” aimed to connect people with expert knowledge on lung health. It drew a large crowd, showing that many are eager to learn about and improve their respiratory health. This session showed how the GRAP group, which has been a leader in respiratory care since 2004, applies its knowledge in practical ways.

During the event, Enrique Cimas and Miguel Roman, valued members of the GRAP association, performed spirometry tests for free. These tests are essential for identifying diseases like asthma and COPD and provide valuable information about how well a person’s lungs are working. Offering these tests for free highlighted the importance of catching lung problems early and keeping an eye on lung health.

Medikro played a key role in the event by providing the spirometers used in these tests. As a leading company in respiratory diagnostics, Medikro’s involvement shows its strong commitment to improving lung health. Our effort to provide top-quality diagnostic tools has greatly helped in making lung health screenings more widespread and accessible, true to our motto “Spirometry simplified”.

This community-driven activity complemented the scientific talks at the conference, which included topics like asthma management and vaccinations for lung patients. GRAP’s ongoing commitment to bettering respiratory health at both personal and community levels was clear. The success of the “Space for Citizenship” event highlights how important it is to involve the community in health initiatives. It serves as an example of how scientific meetings can effectively engage the public, making complex health topics relevant and beneficial for everyone.
